Coaching vs. teaching

We employ the term "language coaching" because this concept goes beyond the traditional concept of "teaching a language".

"Teaching a language" focuses on "language" itself as a cultural feature to learn. On the other hand, "language coaching" seeks to develop the ability to use, master and play with language for communication, professional or personal purposes.

By offering linguistic coaching solutions, The Academy goes beyond mere language teaching because its goal is to guide students to master the pragmatics of the language, while focusing on concrete and very short-term purposes, such as: acquiring language basics to escort a foreign visitor at their company, negotiating a contract and holding presentations abroad.

In-company training

Language training thinks language as a tool. Therefore, it is necessary to assess how clients want to use this "instrument" first and then implement a program that is adequate and suitable.

It is important to keep in mind that each company is unique, has its own features, needs and corporate cultures, which add up to the unique features of its employees.

A first approach is to prepare a detailed profile of the company, getting acquainted with its background, structure, goals, strategies and plans in the short-, medium- and long-run.

The next step is to analyze the goals and expectations from the company and employees, then design a tailor-made program. We keep track of the whole deployment process to ensure that goals are achieved and also to restructure and enhance our training solutions if needed.

Individually-tailored programs
